Dr. Hook, opgericht 1968 in New Jersey, was een Amerikaanse rockband die internationaal succes boekte en een begrip werd in de jaren '70 en '80. Onder leiding van Dennis Locorriere en Ray Sawyer stond de groep bekend om hun eigen nummers als 'The Cover of Rolling Stone' 'Roland the Roadie and Gertrude the Groupie'en later door disco beïnvloede softrocknummers, waaronder 'Sexy Eyes' en 'Better Love Next Time'.
